What car you thought was pretty cool when you were younger, but now ask yourself “What the heck was I thinkin’?!”
I was cruising down the boulevard in my newly Leatheriqued seats and basically giving my rump a treat when I saw this bad boy behind me.
I remember when it first came out thinking, “Boy, those South Koreans sure have Pinafarina’s number”. Now seeing it, and seeing how far Hyundai has come I can’t help to think that the Aztec gets a lot of unfair abuse.

I refuse to contribute. I plead the 5th.

I actually like the Aztec. It’s a little tall, but that’s the only gripe I have towards it.
That Hyundai, though? Good gods that’s awful.

I lie to you not, I wanted this to be my first car.
Preferably in red.

I saw the new Dodge Neon at the 1994 North American International Auto Show and thought it was the bee’s knees. It was just so shiny and bright in that nitro green on the Highline trim level.
I was seven.

in fifth grade we had a project of what you would do with a million dollars. The majority of my million went to a McLaren F1 and a 2 dr Cavalier Rally Sport.

Those things ate head gaskets for breakfast, lunch and diner. My wife actually had note as her first car. She had the gasket replaced three times before the warranty ended.

I was the same way with the Neon when it first came out, to the point I would always point them out to my family while on a road trip.

Oh, God Dammit! Allright! Allright! Allright!
Sigh. Fuck. OK, here goes:
When I was in my early 2o’s I was torn between getting a 4WD truck (e.g. Ext Cab S-10) or a sports car of some sort (can’t remember what), so I got a car with the handling of a truck and the practicality of a sports car. Yes: A Geo Tracker. For a year, I beat the shit out of that thing and hated myself for buying it. The only defense I have is that I was young, recently no longer broke and the new car smell got to me (also, I listened to my brother who told me I don’t need 4WD; you can imagine how pissed I was when a month later, he rolls up in a new 4Runner, which I puked on a month later after having too many margaritas, but that’s another story for another time).
I did my penance, tho: A year later, I traded it in for an Ext Cab 4WD Sierra, effectively doubling my payment and halving my gas mileage.
I feel so naked now.

When people bitch about he Aztec all I can think is. “At least it’s not a Rendezvous.”
To me the Buick is far uglier, stupider, and just over all worse than the Pontiac.

I honestly can’t think of a car I thought was cool when I was a kid, that I don’t still like.
Well I I guess there’s one, but I only loved it because my older brother had one. he had it when he was 18, and he is 8 years older than me. I mean when your 10 or 12 years old what could possibly be cooler than your older brother’s car? Thankfully he wrecked it and bought an 88 Volvo 240 with three pedals.

Pains me to say it... Pretty much anything made by GM. Especially two door Grand Prix, last gen Auroras, early 00’s STS’s and Eldorados. Ooh, and 80’s platform mates to Monte Carlo/Regal (including those two of course).

When it first came out I wanted a VY SS Commodore on chrome rims with spinners. No Chevy badges though fortunately.

In my defense, I was 11 at the time.
